Museum of Natural History - Christmas Calendar

Christmas times is an exciting time for everyone, especially for the young ones counting down to Christmas eve. With this digital advent calendar, commissioned by the Swedish Museum of Natural History, one answer a Christmas related question in every daily flap. The kids' have fun whilst waiting and they also learn something new at the same time. The campaign was well received by kindergartens and preschools, and became an appreciated daily routine in the important count down toward Christmas.

I was honoured to the create the main illustration and design the experience around it. The code magic was done by my talented coworkers at Dempsey.

To make the illustration I used a 3D base with several render passes. Composed in Photoshop before painted on top to get the illustrated feeling. I spent a lot of time getting Rudolf as cute as possible.
